Community Guidelines

1. Nothing illegal

Don't post or link to anything illegal, and don't use sov.gg to plan, promote or carry out illegal activity.

2. Child safety

We have zero tolerance for anything that sexualises minors, and for grooming or any attempt to exploit children. We remove it, close the account permanently and report it to the authorities and to child-protection organisations.

3. Sexual content and 18+ links

On sov.gg itself: no pornography or sexually explicit images, video, audio or text on profiles, and no nudity or sexual material in anything you upload (avatars, backgrounds, banners, audio, video, badges and the rest). sov.gg doesn't host adult content.

Links to other websites: you may link to lawful adult (18+) websites, for example a creator's page on an adult subscription platform, as long as you follow these rules.

• Mark it. Switch on "18+" for the link in the editor. Anyone who clicks it is first asked whether they are 18 or over and sure they want to go on. Links to sites we know to be 18+ are always marked, and that mark can't be switched off, whatever you save. Our list can't cover every site (or mixed sites such as Reddit), so marking the rest is your job. Opening a marked link, however it is opened, always leads through the question first. Don't hide where a link goes, and don't send someone to an adult site through an unmarked link, a redirect or a shortener.
• Keep it lawful. Never link to illegal content, to anything involving minors or that sexualises them, or to sexual material of anyone shared without their consent, including leaked or "revenge" material and anything faked to look like a real person. Links whose main purpose is to shock, deceive or advertise sexual content to people who didn't choose it aren't allowed either.
• Keep it off the rest of your profile. The words, images and previews on your profile must follow the rules above even when the link they sit beside leads somewhere adult.
• It's on you. You're responsible for what you link to and for following the laws that apply to you, including those on adult content, age checks and advertising. sov.gg doesn't check the sites you link to, and the question before an 18+ link is a confirmation, not an age check.
• Not for minors. sov.gg allows people from 13 up, so don't aim 18+ links at young people or at communities for them. The same applies to people under the age of adulthood where they live.

We may remove an 18+ link, hide a profile or take stronger action if a link breaks these rules, even when it was marked. Seen one? Report it, or write to support@sov.gg.

4. Violence and extremism

No threats of violence, incitement, or content that glorifies violent attacks. No terrorist or violent extremist content, propaganda or symbols used to promote it.

5. Hate, harassment and privacy

• Don't attack or demean people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or other protected characteristics.
• Don't harass, bully or threaten anyone, or encourage others to.
• Don't share someone's private information without their consent: home address, phone number, ID documents, private photos or messages ("doxxing").

6. Impersonation and deception

• Don't pretend to be another person or organisation in a way that misleads people. Parody and fan profiles must say clearly that they are.
• Don't fake the verification mark, Premium or other sov.gg badges, or pretend to be sov.gg staff.

7. Scams, phishing and malware

• No scams or fraud: fake giveaways, "send crypto and get double back", promises of guaranteed returns, pump-and-dump schemes, fake shops, or fake support.
• No phishing: pages or links that try to get people's passwords, login tokens, recovery codes or payment details.
• No malware: links to viruses, password or token stealers, cracked software carrying malware, or IP loggers and grabbers.
• Don't sell or trade stolen accounts, stolen items or other people's data.

8. Spam and manipulation

• Don't fake or inflate views, with bots or otherwise.
• Don't create accounts in bulk or by automated means.
• Don't use profiles to disguise where links go, or for spam.
• Don't claim usernames only to sell them.

9. Other people's work

Only post what you have the rights to: music, images, video, logos, fonts and text. See our Copyright Policy.

10. Regulated and dangerous goods

Don't sell or promote illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, or any goods or services that are illegal, or that need a licence you don't have.

11. Self-harm

Don't post content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Content about recovery and finding support is welcome.

12. Graphic content

No gore or extreme violence shown to shock.

13. Respect sov.gg itself

Don't attack or overload sov.gg, scrape it, get around restrictions we've placed on your account, or come back with a new account after we've banned you.

How we enforce these rules

We look at how serious a breach is, whether it was deliberate, and the account's history. We may warn you, remove content, hide your profile, limit features, remove Premium, take back your username, or suspend or close your account. Child sexual abuse material, credible threats and malware mean immediate, permanent removal and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities. We tell you what we did and why, and you can appeal; see section 8 of our Terms.
